The bracelet project is all about making a bracelet in order to encourage the many who struggle with the urge to pick or pull when they are sitting watching TV or talking on the phone, to rather keep their hands busy for a good cause. In addition it promotes the connection with others who share your struggles and spreading awareness to the broader community. This great bracelet project that ran successfully last summer is the initiative, yet again, of the Canadian BFRB Support Network!

How to get involved

Getting involved is fairly easy. Simply make a friendship bracelet(s) by using the BFRB colours- blue and green, write a small message of hope to accompany the bracelets to your BRFBuddy/Penpal or even include your email address to keep communication going and gain yourself a virtual friend, mail your bracelets as a gift to CBSN who will then raise awareness and funds to assist BFRB’s and in return ensure that the money raised will help purchase more BRFB informational brochures to send across Canada. Before mailing your bracelets you are encouraged to take a picture of your bracelet, tag it and send it on a social media website like Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter; creating social hype and spreading awareness all the while causing lasting memories and lasting relationships!

Be part of the excitement!

The bracelet project is a creative, fresh and colourful initiative that will no doubt get people chatting, tagging and sending this summer! The idea to keep those suffering from skin picking and pulling busy by making bracelets that will create a wave of excitement on social media as well as build anticipation to those waiting for the messages of hope from their BFRBudddy/Penpal or virtual penpal.

Spread the message

The project is sure to have a positive impact in that the vast number of bracelets tagged and sent via social media and will make others aware that they are not alone in their plight to fight the urges of this compulsive disorder. Let's help make this summer even bigger and better than the last and may this initiative grow from strength to strength.
