Always catching colds - idea
Does anyone else feel like picking is bad for your health. I know I am always sick because I cannot keep my hands out of my mouth from the urge to bite around my nails. I work with children too so I know it is a bad idea to bite around my nails with all the germs around, but that doesn't seem to stop me.
I found a great hand-sanitizer that tastes really bad once dried. I have recently been using germ-x because it sanitizes and leaves an awful taste. Hope that helps.
I would like to try the 21 day challenge that everyone is talking about and would love to have someone to start this with.

Hi Lynn, I'm starting tomorrow at day 1. I managed 3 days but picked a bit again today so starting again. Good luck - keep checking in here it has really been helping me.

Definitely picking causes sicknesses. For one, you're taxing your immune system with the wounds it causes. Second, wounds create openings for germs to get in. Third, if you bite your hands then they don't even have to try to get in wounds. Hopefully the hand sanitizer will help but definitely try the 21 day challenge! I've tried not to pick the past two days and managed to decrease my picking a lot, but I wasn't pick-free. So, in a way I'm starting it tomorrow, as I keep trying to start it. I'm determined to do it tomorrow though, I hardly picked today (once) so I'm thinking I can conquer it tomorrow.

I've wondered the same about my nose picking. But I don't think I get sick any more than anyone else. In fact I figure that having my fingers there has probably boosted my immune system because of the exposure. Not that I'm going to rationalize that into continuing to do so. :)
