Here's aIn Idea to Help
Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know my new strategy for stopping picking, it's working pretty well. Basically, get a marker, and every time you pick any place, make a line on your forearm. I tally four with a diagonal to mark groups of five, that way it's easy to count.
It's effective because it's a visual representation of how much damage you're actually doing to your skin, and looking at it makes me realize I can't pick any more.
Also, it stops you from going into the 'trance'-phase, because you have to record when you pick so you can't just get into the standing in front of the mirror forever- part, since it's broken up by tallying.
My goal is: pick less then you did yesterday. Eventually, I won't pick any, right?
Let me know if this works for you, or other tips to stop. Getting rid of my mirror just won't work for my roommate situation and makeup, so this is what I've come up with.
Also, makeup is a great idea, if you have makeup on you normally don't touch your face as much because you don't want to mess up the concealer, so I pick less.
Anyhow, great site, all my support guys!
