Here are a list of products that have worked for me and are continuing to work for me these past few months: Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar, Calamine Lotion, Equate's Original Clean Facial Cleansing Towelettes, Equate's version of Proactive's Purifying Cleanser, Equate's version of Proactive's Repairing Lotion, T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel Astringent, and Biore's Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. When I have wounded skin that is in need of healing, I wash my face in the morning with my Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar and follow with a Calamine lotion mask. After 30 min - 1 hour, I wash it off using my Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar. After I pat my face dry, I apply a cotton swab of Witch Hazel all over my face. Once the Witch Hazel has dried, I apply my favorite SPF moisturizer (Image's Matte Moisturizer SPF 30) and follow with applying my foundation and makeup. The foundation I use is BareMinerals Matte Foundation and Original Mineral Veil with SPF. At the end of the day, I remove my makeup and clean my face using Equate's Original Clean Facial Cleansing Towelettes followed with a cotton swab of witch hazel to remove any excess makeup or oils left behind. Once the witch hazel has dried, I finish up by applying Equate's version of Proactive's Repairing Lotion. I found this to be the gentlest way for me to heal and treat my wounded skin AND prevent any new breakouts from forming. Once my skin is relatively healed, I discontinue use of the Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar and replace it with Equate's version of Proactive's Purifying Cleanser. This cleanser is NOT harsh like Proactive's Purifying Cleanser. It makes my skin smooth and it's a gentle exfolliant for daily use on wound-free skin. After I pat my face dry, I apply a cotton swab of Witch Hazel all over my face. Once the Witch Hazel has dried, I then apply my favorite SPF moisturizer listed above. During this time, I also discontinue use of the Calamine Lotion so as not to dry my skin out. Once a week, usually on Saturday or Sunday, I will apply a Biore Strip to my nose to remove any blackheads I might have. I will usually do this after I've washed my face but before I apply the Witch Hazel. At night, I continue with the same regimen listed above. I swear by this method and my skin has truly never looked clearer and my husband has even made the comment that my skin has never looked this good with or without makeup in the 3 and half years we've been together. My skin tone is more even and my pores are smaller. The BP in the Purifying Cleanser and Repairing Lotion has really helped my skin to maintain a smooth, clear complexion and the Witch Hazel has really helped to minimize the size of my pores. I truly hope you all will give these skincare regimens a try. My skin truly has never looked better and miraculously my scars are fading as well.
