A little bit of my personal advise :)

I've been reading a book, and it talks about goal setting and how you must write your goals down, get them out on paper and have them in front of you, But rather then writing them as "Future Goals" your should write them as tho they are already happening, so rather then writing "I will not pick" "I will have nice skin", you should write it as "I no longer pick at my skin" "My skin is healthy and beautiful". If you write it as tho it is at present time, then your subconscious mind makes it happen as tho it is present time, if you talk about it like it is in the future, your subconscious mind is always thinking in future terms.. also setting a date, pick a date in 1 months time, for example, say the 12th of October.. on this day, your skin will be completely healed.. working up to this date, you do what ever it takes to prevent your self from picking, if it means wearing band aids on your finger tips, telling your self the most positive things you can think of, not looking in a mirror for how ever long you need to, ANYTHING that stops you from doing it, knowing that you really want this, but knowing that a slip up here and there is ok too.. as your still only human, and even people with the nicest skin you have ever see pick the occasional spot.. Maybe you want to give it 2 months, depending on what situation your spots are in. You have to read them no less then twice a day, morning and night, More if you can, bring them with you to work, or school. Type them up and print them and stick them to your bathroom mirror, on your front door, on the dash of your car, where ever your going to read them. When you read them, you need to really believe they are happening, and that these goals are being achieved with ever breath of air you take into your lungs, ALWAYS think the positives. Tell your self you are no longer a person who picks their skin. Its a technique that has been working since the 1800's, the book is for a nutrition plan, but the basic principles can be use for anything. I keep my goals on laminated cards in my purse, with pictures of how I want to look, and little notes that get buried in my subconscious mind, Ive given myself 49 days to get fit :) This is honestly the best advise I have EVER received. :) I hope this helps to improve your situation and get you to were you need to be. Within 10 days your should see improvements within 20 others will see them. Its not something that will happen over night, but it will most certainly benefit you in the long run. okay (: i dont pick anymore and on october 12th, my skin will be healed (: arent you excited for me ? (: i am !

VERY excited! You've gotta be committed to telling your self these positive things every day, writing down your goals and reading them morning and night, You have to believe this is going to work :) From reading your past comments on other Threads Skreed, I believe you will be able to achieve this in no time at all! You seem to have such a strong mind. By the sounds of it, when you put your mind to something, you achieve it :) I look forward to the 12th of October when I hear that your skin is Healed :)

thanks Emmi (: you are such a sweetie pie (: i am done with picking and its so exciting. i KNOW this time that i am only going to heal from this point on. there is no question in my mind anymore ! its what i want and what i need and its whats going to happen (: (: (: (: today is the first day of the rest of my pick free life ! thanks for believing in me

Skreed, That is NO problem what so ever. I love helping people over come these sorts of things, I love knowing that my experiences and things I'm learning in my life can help someone out. :) Hearing your attitude today puts a smile on my face :) Simple changes in the way your type, and the fact you put "its what i want" before "it's what i need" thats a sign there that you already want this! the hardest part about quitting something is doing it because you feel you "need" to, for what ever reason, but deep down inside you dont "want" to quit, which always sets your back.. 7 months ago, I had been trying to quit smoking for about 2 years, because everyone was telling me I should quit, I felt like I had to. But I enjoyed that first drag in the morning, and sitting out in the sun on a nice spring day, drinking a coffee and having a cigarette with my friends, I tried and tried and tried, I use to last maybe 6 hours, Because I never really wanted to quit. Then one day after new years, I decided I was over being a little chunky, and as part of my new years resolutuion, I took up running, I struggled with that because I couldn't breathe because I use to smoke so much, I then realized that the smoking no longer FIT in with my new lifestyle. I basically went home, and began my journey to quit, it took me 3 weeks, and I was a non smoker.. I slowly cut down the nicotine content and before I new it I was smoking because of habit, not because of addiction.. Now I dont even look back, it took me 28 days to kick the habit of having something in my hand all the time, But I got there. By the sounds of it Hun, picking no longer fits into your lifestyle, from the comments on other threads that Ive seen your still young, Like me, Im only 20, we've got our WHOLE lives ahead of us! Its time we quit this picking and live our social lives again!!
