chewing skin on my fingers

Hi I was just wondering if anyone first has been able to stop and what they tried to do so. And second after they stop is there anyway to get your hand to be smooth again mine are all rough amd calloused now. Im 38 and im tired of having such nasty hands. Thanks for reading this
