Can calamine lotion be used on open wounds?

I have read tons of posts on here about the magic of calamine lotion, so obviously I want to give it a try. My forehead is covered in red marks and open wounds. Can calamine be used on open wounds if they're bleeding? I have Neosporin on them right now but if calamine works better then obviously I will use that. I just don't know if calamine lotion is safe for bleeding wounds or not. If anyone knows the answer please let me know ASAP, these wounds need to GO AWAY!!!
