Can we die from this?

I am a scalp picker and saying my picking is bad is an understatement. It is so grotesque and the damage I've done is so severe that I have bald patches and inflamed skin lesions throughout the entirety of my scalp. I also get terrible headaches because of it and the funny thing is none of that is enough to stop me from picking. I have begun to think I'm going to infect my scalp so badly from all the picking that it will ultimately lead to my demise. Somehow, I'm indifferent about that. As long as I can pick on my death bead. I just wanted to know...can this kill us?
