Difference of skin picking and scratching?

I have been trying to figure out what to do about my problem and if I should look into more information on Dermatillomania or something different. Everything I have seen about Dermatillomania has been about skin picking, but I SCRATCH my skin until it scars and bleeds. Is this something different or is this along the same lines? I just wanted to know what kind of research I should be doing and also if this is something I should see a doctor about. Or is seeing a doctor not worth the bill? lol (I am a poor college student with no health care...so if its not necessary then i want to avoid it! lol) Thanks so much!
