Description

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University (WMU), located in Kalamazoo, MI. I am also National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) and offer tele-mental health counseling services to residences of Alaska and Michigan. I hold memberships in various professional organizations such as NBCC, Alaska Infant Mental Health Alliance (AK-AIMH), and Michigan Mental Health Counselor Association (MMHCA). My specialty is working with parents, adults, teens, and couples, addressing various concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, complex disorders, and other unresolved issues. 

Treatment methods

I am new to working with clients with disorders such as trichotillomania, skin picking, nail-biting, and psychogenic itching; however, this is an area that has concerned myself and others within my social support circle due to lack of providers that specialized in working with clients struggling with body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). As such, I took an interest in specializing in this field. I utilize treatment modalities based upon clients' individualized concerns and goals when working with clients. These consist of integrating techniques used in Attachment theory (Child/Parent/and Adults), Reality Therapy, Developmental Psychology, Person-Centered Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), supportive psychotherapy, and habit reversal therapy.
