I am not embarrased
I have been picking for years, since I was a little kid. The areas of picking have varied but my most common areas are my scalp and the tip of my thumb right near the nail. Lately I've begun picking my left index knuckle (in the crease area). It started with a cut that started to scab over (about three or four months ago). It has never healed because I am constantly picking at it and around it. Also, for the first time, I've been picking the top side of my left arm. There are four red and scabby areas. I've told two friends, my mother and a psychiatrist about it. I've shown my mother and my friends my arm. I'm not ashamed! Recently, when I looked at my arm, I thought, Uh-oh. This is beginning to look like self-mutilation. I went online and found this amazing site: skinpick.com! It's a dream come true. I relate to all the posts in one way or another, except I don't feel embarrassed or ashamed and I have no desire to stop -- it's so pleasurable. I am a bit worried about the sites becoming infected but other than that I see no reason to stop. Are the reasons for me to stop?
