I'm New! Any help appreciated :)

My main concern/priority: FADING OLD (like 1-year old) scars! These scars are areas I have picked on my left breast, upper thigh, and face. My few face scars are hidden pretty well by makeup and light pink, so they're not as much of a priority. The scars on my body are dark red/brown/purpley splotches that are flat now, but haven't faded much. My story: I have been picking my skin *for years* but it's actually gotten more extreme with age. I think I do it when I am bored/anxious/emotionally stressed. I always target the same areas. My oldest scar is probably 2 years old, but most of them are from the past year. I think as I have gotten older and the habit has gotten worse, I'm slower at healing. I talked to my most recent ex and he told me that my scars part of the reason he couldn't continue being in a relationship with me, and that he wanted me to be proactive about this so I don't have to carry this around with me forever :( This was mean, but he was definitely just giving me tough love for my own good. I couldn't agree with him more. it's time to be proactive about it. What I am doing: -- taking a multivitamin and fish oil every day -- nadinola fading cream on old scars (on breast and upper thigh), morning and night -- bio oil on all affected areas a couple times a day -- a vitamin E moisturizer from CVS Am I doing too much? Am I missing anything very effective? Please remember that these are **old** scars... thank you SO MUCH for your help and support. Also, on a side note, I'm trying to journal everything I do to my skin so I can become more mindful and hopefully become better at not picking. Thanks!!

Sorry guys, my post is a mess. this was a few separate paragraphs when I wrote it. I'm not sure how to keep lines/paragraphs separate...

if you dont mind my asking, how old are you ? some important things for improved skin tone and texture that you seem to be neglecting are; 1) EXCERSIZE ! getting your blood flowing not only helps the appearance of your skin right away, but also improves it over time. when you start excersizing daily, you will look better and feel better and your body will work better in general ! including fading past scars. a lot of people focus on topical products when in reality, your physical appearance is a serious reflection of your internal health. and 2) exfoliating ! another thing that can potentially seriously reduce scars. you can use a salt or sugar scrub a few times a week or simply scrub yourself with a loofa in the shower ! also, something that i have recently read about for fading scars is scar massage ! maybe spend a little more time rubbing the bio oil on the spots giving you trouble

you arent old at all then ! you have so much potential to heal ! be optimistic. i like to make my own scrub, if its for my body i will use salt (regular table salt) and then add a some kind of a skin friendly oil like olive oil, vitamin e oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil. its nice to take a warm bath so your skin gets all soft and then use the scrub. you will feel softer than a babies butt afterwards ! i used to pick really bad on my pubic area, i had so many dark purple indented scars. once i was able to stop picking there and all my wounds were closed up, i started exfoliating everyday and then smothering it with a cocoa butter vitamin e lotion and a few months later the scars were much less noticable, today (a little over a year later) there is almost no trace of them ! it sounds like you have already got this part down but make sure to always keep your skin moisturized. that will do wonders over time to help soften the scars and smooth out the texture of your skin
