it seems im on to something

hey, bas here. for the past couple of days, i have been trying to spread what knowledge i know about csp and tips on this forum. The more tips and advice i gave, the better i felt about my own self, and the easier i found it to follow my own advice. I havent picked more than 10 scabs in the past 3 days. Considering ive been doing it for about a 11 years or so, i consider that quite the accomplishment. I decided to make this thread a general advice and questions thread, where anybody can ask me anything and il try to answer to the best of my knowledge, or anybody else who knows can jump in and contribute too. good luck everybody

i kno a bit, i have a prescription cream i only use on scabs that have been infected, its a gentamacin sulfate based compound i think, anyway anything short of a prescription drug or cream wont help much once its become excoriated. so see a dermatologist or a general practicioner. cocoa butter will help a bit i suppose tho

Yeah, I've been meaning to go to a dermatologist, but I haven't had the chance to do so. I will go though...eventually. Thanks for the cocoa butter tip, I'll definitely give it a try.

also, after u pick, try rubbing peroxide or isopropyl alchohol on the area. Or before you pick you can apply some surgical antiseptic, which can actually be purchased at most pharmacies. to prevent further infection, and cut ur nails

Thanx a whole lot. Congratulations on the scabs thing, it is a great accomplishment. I know the feeling, I feel great after a pimple disappears without having pocked at it.

oh also, for the men, studies show that arm , back and chest acne comes from the hormone dht, which is Guys can bypass this conversion by taking prescription clomid or novadex, ask your doctor if your intersted. Also, for guys under 40, taking these will also yield other benefits, such as increased sex drive and muscular endurance, due to the higher level of testosterone retention in the blood stream. Basically how these work is they simply stop the testosterone from converting to dht, thereby cutting body acne.

lol, Yes, I am an angel! oh my god, that kid got a bad atitude to you was a shameful. Yes, the back was real killer but it was weird, I starting picking on my back when I starting to feel good but some other days, I didn't pick at all, I was feeling sick a bit but that was quite weird to me. Well my back was a in a hole while i was picking so the next day, I will puts the cream on to make it better. I didn't feel hurt at all so I'm tough to beat lol. Sometimes on my arm was sore also due to the pickings on my skins. Let's just say Life sucks! but I make it better days anyway. I hope you don't get in trouble bb91! Watch out that kid's atitude!

It is a relief to know you're not alone. I am 40 years old and have been picking for 20 years. My skin picking is solely done on my chin to extract ingrown hairs. It starts out as a red bump that is extremely painful to touch. It then turns into a pus filled sore which will not heal until the hair is removed. It is so frustrating because I can see the hair but it is so embedded that I have to use a needle to get it out. The hair is encased in a clear capsule looking thing. I have to get the needle "under" this capsule and it literally pops out, then the blemish heals in a day or so. I use exfoliating wash which does help. If I don't have an ingrown hair, then I don't pick. When I get really close to the mirror, I can see about 10 hairs under the surface of the skin. I usually have one or two of these which will get inflammed and the picking begins. I may spend hours determined to get the hair out because I know this is the only way it will heal. Just curious to know if this story sounds like yours. Also, my chin is so damaged it is dented and bumpy. Are there any products that truly work on scar revision. I have tried mederma, scar zone, and several copper peptide products with not luck. Is surgery an option? Seems like that would result in more scarring. Lastly, if I stopped picking tomorrow, will my skin ever return to normal?
