Looking for a buddy!
Hi everyone,
I'm a 20 year old girl and new to this site. I just joined because I've decided I want to try a new way of tackling my dermatillomania (which only seems to be getting worse).
I haven't told anyone about it (although my mum is aware I pick) because I'm embarrassed, and also I feel like that would make me more relaxed about doing it in front of them and less likely to stop.
I'm looking for a buddy who already picks and wants to stop, so that we both have a person to be accountable to. I feel like it'd be easier to be honest and get through it with someone else who's in the same situation.
We could contact each other through the day (especially at dangerous times) to remind each other not to pick, make ourselves accountable to each other and be there for general support. Hopefully we could watch each other progress together!
I don't mind age or gender, ideally it would be someone in the UK so we could text each other and be in the same timezone, but I'm sure we could work around that kind of thing.
Also, I don't know how we could privately exchange contact details on this site, but maybe those of you who've been here longer can help me out with that.

I would love to join as well! I have been suffering from dermatillomania since middle school. I am now 20, and though it is better than it has ever been, I still relapse (like last night). It would be great to have a group of people to talk to!
I'm 23 and live in the us, this sounds like a very positive thing you guys have going. And since mango is the op i will download the app and give this a shot tomorrow.

im new to the site but deffinatly not new to dermatillomania... (been picking at lesions caused by acne since i was about 12) and now being almost 25 with a baby on the way and getting married next year im DETERMINED to kick this habit to the curb. i would love a buddy aswell if anyone is up to it?! im on the westcoast of Canada, pacific time!

I'm 28 (female) in BC, Canada and have been picking since I was a kid. My arms currently look like a war zone (just quit my job to start my own business and the stress has made the picking worse). Eeeeeeek!

Mangojuice, coconut and everyone else here....I love your username's btw...mine is inspired by that...lol..I would love to have someone to get through my program through with too...We can all help each other with posts here....But I live in India and cannot whatsapp in the same time zone...Is there anyone else who lives in Europe or anything or in Asia....I would love to just be in touch on this forum...to keep giving each other support and asking about each other's progress....I just started the program one week ago and I am not any better....And I will try to download this kik app...sounds good....
By the way, even if none of you live in my time zone it is okay.I don't need to whatsapp or text anyone often just need anyone in any time zone in their 20's for support...I am over 25 , but not yet 30, a girl.
Hi! I am new to this group and could really use someone to talk to who understands what I'm going through. My husband is supportive but he doesn't get it. I'm 35 and have been picking the scabs on my scalp on and off for probably the last 30 years also sometimes I pick at my ears. I just want to stop so I can get my hair done and not feel so bad about myself. What has worked for everyone?

Ok so I belong to another group yahoo.com/group/TLCDermSupport if you are able to join you can get my email address there. You have to be approved because it is a closed group and they also have message boards. I only signed up for yahoo for this group and my username is the same.
