Excema itching picking and hot showers I need help to stop

Hi my name is brandon and I have been blaming my skin problems on excema since I was 12 and now I am 22. 10 years of itching and picking my skin until it would bleed or turn raw and I now am reaching out for help to all of you now that I am am not by myself and not going it alone. I remember being 12 in middle school and after my pe class my feet would be all sweaty and it would itch so bad and I would rub the top of my feet till there was no top layer left and my sock would turn nasty from puss and blood. Then the cycle started of waiting for the layer to heal to the point of creating one big flake of skin that I would peel off and make it clear again because in my head I couldnt have the flake being there. For several years it continued to be just on my feet and I would do anything to itch and pick them eventhough at the same time my parents were doing everything to try to figure my skin condition out. I felt so bad because all the time and money my parents wasted on trying to figure out why I itched was pointless because I really couldn't stop no matter what I tried. I went to a dermatologist that was well know in eczema and she sent me to a light therapy treatment center again that made no progress because I couldn't stop the itching and picking cycle. On top of all of this I found hot water in the shower made my skin temporarily would make it feel better and almost orgasmic the hotter it would go till I couldn't take anymore. Now ten years later i have itched and picked my legs back and arms and feet without control and it effects every part of my life and I need help. Thankyou for reading

Have to keep it short cuz my work break is almost up, but I had the exact same problem until about a year ago when I was forced to clean my feet up for my beach wedding. My doctor prescribed a cream called Cloberatsol.......or something like that. It was a miracle cream! Seriously. Haven't touched my feet since. They still aren't 100% cleared up - I have alot of thick skin & cracking around the heels, but they no longer itch. Especially relate to your comments about the hot water. OMG it felt so good when your feet were all itchy, swollen & sore. Talk to your doctor about the cream I am referring to. It reall did work & my feet were a BIG mess for years. I wouldn't even wear sandals or flip flops.

Sis I love ya and thanks. Thankyou doglover I haven't wore sandalls or shorts in public in many years now. I miss swimming and the feeling of wearing shorts on a 90+ day instead of pants and long sleve shirt to cover my messed up skin.

It was as struggle to stop for sure, but I did it and so can you. I didn't even know I had excema until last summer when I went to the derm and pleaded for help before my wedding. The cream she gave really helped me. Have you tried it?

Im not a 100% sure but I think I had that cream a few years back. I called the local Physc on the list here in seattle and he's backed up till march but my sis being very on top of things might of found me a lady that is closer to home. I'm calling her today and so excited and hoping she has a opening soon. I am completley ready to be done with this. I have the hardest time with stopping the hot shower because all the itch goes away for a few mins. I will stop it's not a choice. I have to. Info girl- I am going to begin implementing the plan starting asap. Thankyou

We all know that the human skin is the largest organ in our body; it functions as a shield to protect our body's internal organs from harmful bacteria outside. However, the skin is not just a mask to cover our insides, it's a very complex organ that reflects our overall health. Therefore, the skin deserve all the essential nutrients it needs to protect itself from external damage. http://treatmentforscabies.weebly.com/

some research on natural ways to treat anxiety which is associated with this. http://www.healthyplace.com/anxiety-panic/treatment/natural-therapies-and-supplements-for-anxiety-disorders/menu-id-69/ The following is also important: *45 mins of excersise that gets your heart pumping 3-5 times a week. * 8 hours of sleep at night * avoid coffee, tea(unless herbal),sugary foods, chocolate, or carbonated drinks like soda *alcohol worsens anxiety *Oats, bananas, avacodo, pears, whole wheat pasta, bread and brown rice consistent in your diet. * If something is specifically causing anxiety(i.e like fear of animals) see if you can gradually become accustomed to it. little by little. This also improves confidence and self esteem. these take some work and persistence. Believe in yourself and spend time getting to know what works for you and then persevere with it! You will be surprised how much you can help yourself!
